This Nyotaimori inspired project was essentially brought to life to celebrate all things beautiful. On this occasion we tried to envision the beauty of food, human body and art, existing in a harmonic union. Over the centuries people have developed their senses to be highly sophisticated. We are surrounded with things that visually stimulate us and take our senses on wonderful adventures. Our minds and hearts get absorbed by the works of art, we get excited by the look of deliciously plated food and we get hypnotized by the attractiveness of human form. Thus with this project we wanted to play with these three visually captivating stimuli: delicate ink illustration of aphrodisiacs, chilli and fig plants, was drawn on the bare body to add to the story of fine food. This collaboration between illustrator Oksana Bondar and chef Kerth Gumbs was aimed to playfully intrigue the senses of the viewer and start a dialogue about the possibility of different combinations to be called art.
